Motrin (Ibuprofen)

Usage indications

Motrin Tablets are used for relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Take this medicine for the relief of mild to moderate pain. Your doctor may prescribe Motrin for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.

Application mode

Full daily doze should not exceed 3200 mg. the drug intake is allowed during meal and with milk

Drug class and mechanism of action

Motrin belongs to a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Other members of this class include naproxen (Aleve), indomethacin (Indocin), nabumetone (Relafen) and several others. These drugs are used for the management of mild to moderate pain, fever, and inflammation. Prostaglandins are chemicals that are made by the body and are responsible for causing pain, fever and inflammation. Ibuprofen blocks the enzyme that makes prostaglandins (cyclooxygenase), resulting in lower levels of prostaglandins. As a consequence, inflammation, pain and fever are reduced.

Missed dozes

During single miss of doze intake it is necessary to take the doze as soon as possible. If the time of missed doze intake corresponds to the time of next doze intake the drug intake should be missed. The double dosage is prohibited for intake

Store at room temperature 20 - 25 ° C (68- 77 ° F).

Warning  / precautions

The motrine intake is prohibited in case of increased sensitivity to this drug or polyps syndrome in noze, Kvinke edema or bronchospatic reaction for aspine or other non-steroid or anti-inflammatory drugs in anamnesis. This drug intake causes high risk of gastroenteric tract bleeding, ulcer or perforations appearance.

Side effects

The most widespread side effect after this drug intake are the problems of gastroenteric tract. The cases of eye sight level decrease or eyesight blurriness, color perception changes had been detected.

• allergic reaction (breath difficulties; respiratory tract contraction; lips, tongue, face edema or rash);
• muscle contractions, numbness or tingle;
• mouth ulcers (open wounds);
• fast weight increase (liquid delay);
• attacks;
• hearing decrease or ringing;
• yellow skin and eyes (icterus);
• spasm pains in the stomach, stomach upset or heartburn.

Be sure to consult your doctor immediately if any of the following mosat widespread side effects persist for long time:

• giddiness or headache;
• nausea, gases, diarrhea or constipation;
• depressions;
• tiredness or weakness;
• mouth dryness or
• irregular menstruations.

Additional information

Be sure to contact your doctor immediately in case if the blood appears in emetic masses or the bowels are bloody, black or tar-like. These symptoms can indicate dangerous problems with gastroenteric tract.
