Dosage and direction
The correct way to administer Meloset is the way your doctor has prescribed it. It can be different from one human to another depending on your past medical history, health and the severity of the condition that has prompted you to see a doctor in the first place. In general, doctors will prescribe the usage of Meloset two hours before bedtime. Thus, the effectiveness is reached by the time you go to bed. The tablets of Meloset should be taken by swallowing, without chewing it, with a large glass of water. Although there is no evidence that you should have a snack prior to taking the tablet, it is indicated to in case you are experiencing nausea.
Contraindications
Do not take Meloset with alcohol, as it may result in an enhancement of the effects.
Do not take Meloset when pregnant, as there are little to no studies done on females during pregnancy.
Patients having underlying conditions such as kidney or liver disease should first consult their doctor before taking
Meloset, because there are not enough studies that have been made on the matter.

Drug interaction
The following drugs have been found to have certain interactions with Meloset: Fluvoxamine (Luvox), sedative-type medications, blood-thinner medications (anticoagulants) such as warfarin, heparin, or aspirine, medications for diabetes; blood sugar may increase with melatonin caffeine, nifedipine.
Missed dose
In case you have missed a dose, do not take the following day a double dose to make up for the one you missed. Strictly follow the doctor’s orders at all times.
Overdose
In case you are under the impression that you have overdosed, immediately contact 1-800-222-1222, or present yourself to your local emergency room as soon as possible.
Storage
Store Meloset at room temperature, avoiding moisture and direct sunlight and in a place where children do not have access.
Precautions
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Meloset, as your reflexes and senses may be dimished which can lead to accidents.
Do not alter the dose prescribed by your physician as this may have serious implications and may even worsen your condition.
Meloset may contain certain active agents that can cause allergic reactions. If you are experiencing one or more of the following: difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, seek emergency care immediately.
Possible side effect
Possible side effects include headaches, dizziness, being drowsi in the day time, fatigue, throat inflammation, mood changes, irritability, restlessness, nervousness.
