Common Use
Entocort is an anti-inflammatory steroid medication that is used to prevent asthma attacks. Please note that it will not stop an asthma attack that has already begun.
Mode of Application
Entocort is inhaled using a special inhalation device. Read the instructions for using the device carefully in the patient information leaflet.
Place the mouthpiece between your lips and breathe in rapidly and deeply through your mouth. The drug will be inhaled as you breathe in. Hold your breath for 10 seconds to assure it reaches deep into your lungs. Slowly breathe out. You should not exhale into the device.
If you accidentally drop the inhaler or breathe into it, then you will have to load another dose of the drug. Do not use the inhaler if the mouthpiece is detached or it has been damaged.
If you have been asked to inhale twice, then please wait for at least one minute before inhalation.
If you are using a combination of inhalers, then use this one last.
Rinse your mouth after use to prevent a dry mouth sensation.
